I began my career after starting a family and finishing my degree in Banking and International Finance (at the same time!) at The City University. Drifted into running my own small business consultancy and decided to qualify as a Chartered Accountant, also adding to my family, doing articles with Clarke Whitehill. Went back to consultancy (needed the money after divorce!), and then life course took me through building a strong practice, Thatcherism, Post Thatcherism crash, insurance brokerage, “Aslib” (saw the information superhighway coming!), my Dad dying, my French baby arriving, (way to grieve!), a curtain business (true I promise!), and then finally recruitment where I have been for 12 years having enjoyed and survived the .dotcom boom and flush and qualified as LicCIPD and AREC.

I have worked with Drake International. Reed Computing Personnel and Prospect.

I established my own practice, Empower Executive Search, where the ethos is “People First in Business” and “Enabling Better Futures” to encapsulate what I also try to do in my everyday life.

Core to this activity is working with entrepreneurs, financiers, investors, business angles, venture capitalists and their professional advisors such as accountants, solicitors and lawyers building business teams in new ventures, corporate restructurings and management by-out/buy-in scenarios where strong management is crucial to the commercial success of the enterprise and it’s ability to raise capital and funding.

I am also engaged in supporting the CEO of this pioneering ethical E-business that delivers a unique portfolio of leading edge Internet services covering communications, community, e-payment, e-commerce and multi-media sectors to consumers and businesses. Its E-business platform is an integrated web system which provides goods and services through a networked Person 2 Person, Business 2 Consumer and Business 2 Business revenue generating and distribution model. In doing so The People’s World enables people as well as merchants and corporations to participate in key e-business profit centres.

I have been instrumental in raising seed funding and introducing technology partners to implement and enhance the business processes which are in the process of being patented.
