Smart Grids Team Leader £50k+

Some domestic and overseas travel may be required.

Our client works extensively in the renewable energy field including Solar PV, Solar Thermal, Onshore Wind, Offshore Wind and Bioenergy.
Projects range from front end project development (eg strategy, feasibility, and due diligence), advisory work and in some cases projec development, to owners engineers roles at the implementation stage and beyond.
The Transmission and Distribution Division provides a total service for electrical power, transmission and system development including overhead lines, distribution systems, cables, switchgear, transformers, protective relaying, substation control systems and other substation plant.
The company is one of the world's largest employee-owned companies with over 14,000 staff, offices in nearly 50 countries, and projects in 140.
You will be involved in the entire life cycle of consultancy porjects relating to this specialist field. This will range from marketig and initial client contact to the completion of tender documents to help secure new projects. You will then be involved in all aspects of project delivery.

YOUR PROFILE

  • You are an experienced engineer with ability to focus on demand reponse of Smart Grid technologies.
  • You are a degree qualified electrical engineer or graduate of a closely related specialist field.
  • You have a background in at least some of the following: Demand side management techniques; cost and benefit analysis of demand response; specifications of advanced metering infrastructure; data management systems; impact of electric vehicles and heat pumps on the electricity networks.
  • You have good understanding of the electric power network business, power economics and the capability of writing fluent English reports. Consultancy and reseach background would be beneficial. Management experience as well as a proven track record of winning projects or having key contacts within this sector are advantageous.
