Systems Requirements Analyst

RESPONSIBILITIES

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

 

Primary Responsibility

 

To manage the requirements gathering and design of all CLIENT systems and applications

 

 

Responsible for :

·         translating client requirements into highly specified systems design requirements documents

·         liaising extensively with external or internal clients

·         analysing existing systems

·         documenting existing systems

·         identifying options for potential solutions and assessing them for both technical and business suitability

·         drawing up specific proposals and system design specifications for new, modified or replacement systems

·         producing project feasibility reports

·         presenting proposals to clients

·         working closely with developers and a variety of end users to ensure technical compatibility and user satisfaction

·         planning and working flexibly to a deadline

·         assisting end users to create User Acceptance Tests

·         assisting end users with user acceptance test

·         providing training to users of a new or updated system

·         gathering user feedback

·         keeping up to date with technical and industry sector developments

·         management of the requirements gathering process

·         assisting all groups, as required, in the production of supporting technical information such as presentations, comparison reports, information bulletins, user manuals

·         Fulfilling any other reasonable activity as requested by the Systems Technology Manager


 

Authority :

 

The Systems Requirements Analyst acts on behalf of the Systems Technology Manager with responsibility for all aspects of design of all CLIENT systems and applications. The Systems Requirements Analyst will have authority without recourse to others for making functional decisions, always within corporate policy and guidelines, to deliver the group’s mission and vision.

 

Reporting :

 

The Systems Requirements Analyst reports verbally, on a day-to-day basis and in writing as required to the Systems Technology Manager.

 

Coordinating Obligations :

 

The Systems Requirements Analyst coordinates with:

·         all Product Managers and the Research, Development and Production Group relating to all aspects of product and service developments, associated customer feedback and findings from ongoing field evaluations and testing

·         the Product Management team and Global Business Development

·         all Project Teams requiring requirements and design skills

 

 

Experience, Skills and Knowledge:

 

The Systems Requirements Analyst will have:

·         7 years minimum experience, 10 years preferred, in systems/software based requirements gathering and specification; qualification in a Software/Mathematical or Computing discipline required at B.Sc. 2:1 minimum.

·         excellent interpersonal communications skills at all levels and very effective teaming skills

·         collaborative abilities in multi-disciplined teams

·         ability to take work/tasks/projects to closure

·         possess excellent analytical skills and be able to produce high-quality technical specifications, procedures and other similar documentation both technical and otherwise

·         attention to detail

·         be able to flex and adapt to changing situations easily

·         a self starter who is able to work under their own initiative

·         preferably have knowledge of technical product marketing

·         preferably have knowledge of Satellite Navigation (GPS, GLONASS) and/or offshore survey

 

 

Health and Safety Responsibilities :

 

Responsible to the Project Manager (Software Applications) to ensure that all work and activities are carried out in a manner which will secure the health and safety of those involved, and in a manner which minimises the impact on the environment and all to be in line with corporate requirements.

Experience and Qualifications Required:

Salary level:

The salary level commensurate for this position should be between 38K and 43K at 2012
